The European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg, Germany is looking to hire a Science and Society Programme Manager:
The post requires an advanced university degree, or the equivalent of a PhD, in a relevant field (for example Science and Technology Studies, bioethics, communication, science journalism, biology, social sciences). The applicant should also possess previous work experience in the fields of communication, outreach and pubic engagement, and it will be an advantage to have experience in organising multi-disciplinary events: workshops, symposia, conferences, etc. in an international work environment. English being the lingua franca of EMBL, flawless written and spoken English is indispensable. Essential to this position is also the ability to communicate with coworkers in a friendly and diplomatic fashion. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people in a multi – cultural environment are required. The incumbent will have to be available for regular travel to the different EMBL sites.
