Senior Scientist (all genders welcome)

Level of employment: 100 %

Minimum salary: € 56,861.– per annum (gross); classification according to collective agreement: B1 lit.b

Area of Responsibility:

  • Connecting different actors and groups at the University of Klagenfurt to foster interdisciplinary research on the topics of Humans in the Digital Age
  • Planning and promoting events and other innovative formats to initiate networking across research fields
  • Communication with cooperation partners and development and maintenance of the network
  • Initiating applications for third-party funding, especially from European funding programmes
  • Coordination and management of resulting research activities
  • Support for communicating research activities
  • Participation in organisational tasks concerning the establishment of the new center D!ARC
  • Independent research and participation in teaching within the context of D!ARC
  • Publications in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals and talks at international conferences

Requirements:

  • PhD degree completed at a domestic or foreign higher education institution with above average results on Humans in the Digital Age from Science and Technology Studies, Digital Humanities, Human-Computer-Interaction, or related subjects
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills
  • Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration and networking, especially of combining the social sciences and computer sciences
  • Project experience, also for European third-party funded projects
  • Very good command of English (at least C1 in CEFR)

Desired skills:

  • High-quality, peer-reviewed publications
  • Experience in the acquisition of third-party funding
  • Experience in working in cross-disciplinary environments
  • Experience in communicating and promoting research activities, including diverse Social Media channels
