Veranstaltung: AdvanceAEC Autumn School 2022 workshop #1 – ways of robust automation, 10.-14.10.22, Stuttgart

The very first AdvanceAEC Autumn School will lay the foundation for an annually recurring format. This year’s AdvanceAEC Autumn School is hosted by IntCDC and will be part of the Stuttgart Week of Advancing AEC.

It is aimed at early career researchers, e.g. master students, PhD students and postdocs from the partner institutions of the AdvanceAEC network.
In workshops organized by members of the partner institutions, young scientists will have the opportunity to explore theoretical concepts, test practical skills and become familiar with manufacturing processes, programming languages and computer programs. The 2022 courses will include social sciences, computer science and computation, concrete design, carbon concrete structures, robotics and manufacturing.

Workshop #1 – ways of robust automation – will be opened for external early career researchers who can also register for the welcome evening at the first adaptive high rise d1244 on Monday, 10/10/2022, 05:00 – 09:00 pm.

Abstract workshop #1 – ways of robust automation –

Ways of Robust Automation

Many hope that further automation of manufacturing, prefabrication, construction, and assembly will relieve the burden on employees, counter the shortage of skilled labor and increase productivity. At the same time, many questions remain to be clarified: What are the organizational requirements, necessary competencies, suitable interfaces to fulfill these hopes? How do robust and trustworthy systems emerge, which formats of human, machine and hybrid control stand the test of time and when do they contribute to job satisfaction? In the autumn school, we explore these questions from different perspectives and invite PhD students to present research use cases, exchange observations, and jointly deepen theoretical, methodological, and empirical findings.
