The FG Technik- und Innovationssoziologie at the Technical University Berlin invites applications for the position of a Research Assistant (4 years, PhD-position, 65%, TU Berlin) in the project “Implic­a­tions of restric­tions of inclu­sions of GDR sci­ent­ists”. The pro­ject con­sists of the fol­low­ing main steps:

• ana­lysis of research con­di­tions in the GDR, which hindered the integ­ra­tion of sci­ent­ists into the inter­na­tional sci­entific com­munit­ies
• ana­lysis of the integ­ra­tion of GDR sci­ent­ists into the inter­na­tional sci­entific com­munit­ies
• ana­lysis of the GDR sci­ent­ists‘ career dynam­ics after uni­fi­ci­ation

The taska include the con­cep­tual pre­par­a­tion and the con­duct of the pro­posed empir­ical invest­ig­a­tions (archival stud­ies of research con­di­tions in the GDR, oral his­tory inter­views, research bio­graph­ical inter­views) in Ger­many. The empir­ical data of the pro­ject can be used to develop a PhD topic.
