Winter programme of the Laboratory of Science and Technology Studies at Humboldt University (Berlin)

The Laboratory of Science and Technology Studies (Institute for European Ethnology, Humboldt University Berlin) invites you to join these winter semester’s sessions, starting on October 30:

We will have a number of presentations from various areas of research in STS and anthropology by members of the lab and guests, and read and discuss current papers as well as work in progress. We have scheduled twelve lab sessions from October 30, 2017 to February 5, 2018. They will take place Mondays, 12 to 2pm at the Institute for European Ethnology (Room 312) and will be held in English or German.

We are a group of researchers based at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin’s Institute for European Ethnology. We started in 2004 with a strong interest in ethnographic science and technology studies and its intersections with social and cultural anthropology. We have since explored relational, ecological and practice-oriented approaches to provide answers to the basic question how people live together and how these attempts at ordering are shaped by knowledge, technology, infrastructure and the material environment.
